FISHPOND PŠATA

The fish farm Pšata got its current appearance in 1988 when the Biotechnical Faculty of Ljubljana set up a modern selection department for trout farming.

The spring of the Pšata stream with its constant water temperature throughout the year provides favourable conditions for the cultivation of roes and gilts.

In the year 2008, the fish farm Pšata was the first in Slovenia to get the status of illness free fish farm on the list of the European Union.

From the year 2000 on, the fish farm is managed by a private company.

In cooperation with the Biotechnical faculty, educational and research activities also take place in it, along with the fish farming
