Gostilna Zajc

Pri Zajcu in Lahovče is a traditional Gorenjska (Upper Carniola) inn with a 50-year tradition. It stands on the main Kranj–Mengeš road, very close to Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport and the Krvavec ski resort.

The inn's menu is based on classic Slovenian, or more specifically Gorenjska, cuisine, complemented by more contemporary dishes. Every day they prepare several kinds of light midday meals (malica), lunches and dishes cooked to order.

All dishes are adapted to the season, so in winter they serve home-made pork specialities from the traditional pig slaughter (koline). We suggest you pay them a visit and try their farmhouse feast, served with blood sausage, pečenica (pork sausage), roast pork, sautéed potatoes, cabbage, turnip and žganci (a traditional crumbled buckwheat or maize dish). They have two larger rooms: the first seats up to 90 people and the second up to 40. Both are suitable for larger celebrations such as weddings, anniversaries, confirmations, first communions, coach trips and so on. In addition to these two rooms, there is also a smaller room for 15 people and a bar. In summer they also have an outdoor garden with space for 40 people, next to which there is a children's playground.
