Birdwatching

About

Thanks to its varied mountain environment, the Krvavec area and its surroundings are also of interest to birdwatching enthusiasts. Forests, meadows, pastures and higher-lying areas provide a habitat for many bird species, which visitors can observe while hiking and exploring nature.

For the Krvavec area, more detailed information is available on bird species, their characteristics, and the locations where they occur and can be observed. When birdwatching, it is important to respect the natural environment, not to approach birds unnecessarily and not to disturb them, especially during the nesting season. To make exploring easier, the following materials are also available: ‘Birds on Krvavec’, ‘List of birds of the Krvavec area and its surroundings’, ‘Locations where different bird species occur and can be observed’, and descriptions of individual species.

Eurasian pygmy owl

Ring ouzel (Turdus torquatus)

Spotted nutcracker (Nucifraga caryocatactes)

Black grouse

Eurasian bullfinch (Pyrrhula pyrrhula)

Common redpoll (Carduelis flammea)
