Češnjevek Ponds
On the edge of the village of Češnjevek, not far from Strmol Castle, the Češnjevek Ponds, also known as the Virje Ponds, lie among woodland and greenery.
Nature
Near the village of Lahovče lies Lahovče Pond, a well-kept pond surrounded by woodland and greenery. Its peaceful setting by the water makes a pleasant spot to relax in nature, and the pond is particularly popular with anglers.
The pond is rich mainly in carp species and larger catfish. It is home to carp, grass carp, tench, catfish, zander, pike and black bullhead. Depending on the type of permit, coarse fishing, bottom fishing and spinning are allowed.
Lahovče Pond is managed by the Bistrica Domžale fishing club. Permits are available for coarse and predatory fishing, and night fishing is also possible. Rules, permitted species, fishing methods and permitted catch depend on the permit chosen, so it is advisable to check the current conditions before your visit.
Fishing permits can be bought through the Ribiške karte online portal, which also lists current prices, available dates and detailed fishing rules. Permits can be bought 24 hours a day, and certain types are also available at Eventim outlets.
The pond is easiest to reach from Lahovče. In Lahovče, at Gostilna Ambrož, turn towards Zalog and continue along the asphalt road for about 1.5 kilometres. The pond is on the left, right by the road.
