A cultural experience in the festive season – bring your private group to Borštnik’s birthplace!
In November and December we invite you and your private group to enjoy an unforgettable cultural journey into Borštnik’s life … and wine. In the unique setting of the Borštnik Homestead, more than 200 years old, you will discover the story of Ignacij Borštnik, a giant of Slovenian theatre, while soaking up the festive atmosphere.
Ignacij Borštnik (1858–1919) was one of the greatest Slovenian theatre artists and directors. As an actor, director and teacher, he had a major influence on the development of Slovenian theatre and became synonymous with its professionalisation. His life and work are closely linked with Cerklje na Gorenjskem, where he was born. Today, his birthplace is an important cultural monument and a place where his legacy is preserved.
The two-hour programme includes a guided tour of the carefully restored Birthplace of Ignacij Borštnik and is ideal for spending time with colleagues, friends or business partners. You will be charmed by the authentic interior of the house, which takes you into stories of the past, and by details that bear witness to a rich cultural heritage. After the tour, there is a tasting of selected Borštnik wine in the house’s own cellar, where you can give yourself over to a harmony of flavours and the festive mood. To round off the experience perfectly, a home-made platter of local delicacies awaits you – cured meats, cheese and fresh bread.
