Guided tours of the Cerklje Municipal Museum in Hribar Villa
Join us for a guided tour of the Cerklje na Gorenjskem Municipal Museum, housed in the historic Hribar Villa in Cerklje na Gorenjskem. The museum presents the town’s rich cultural heritage and the life story of one of the most important figures of the Slovenian modernist era — Ivan Hribar — and traces the development of the area from the earliest settlements to modern times.
In the 19th century Hribar Villa was the summer residence of Ivan Hribar, the distinguished politician, banker and Mayor of Ljubljana, who brought a new dynamism to the area. Today the museum it houses presents permanent exhibitions of an archaeological, ethnological and historical nature and tells the story of how local society developed and what life was like in Gorenjska (Upper Carniola).
