From 6 to 8 September, things will be lively in front of Jenkova lipa (Jenko’s Lime Tree)!
Autumn Greeting with Gorenjska Carnations (Pozdrav jeseni z Gorenjskimi nageljni) is a multi-day entertainment and cultural festival in Dvorje, organised by the Municipality of Cerklje na Gorenjskem and the Cerklje Tourism Board. The event opens the September celebrations of the municipal holiday, which Cerklje na Gorenjskem has marked on 23 September since 1999 in tribute to a great artist – the versatile theatre maker, founder of Slovenian professional theatre and film actor Ignacij Borštnik, who was born in Cerklje. This year the day will mark 105 years since his death, so the whole of September and part of October will be filled with a variety of cultural and entertainment events.
Last year the event was sadly cancelled due to the aftermath of the severe weather disaster, but this year we are delighted to bring it back.

Strmol Recreational Society and the Municipality of Cerklje na Gorenjskem invite you to the Pumpaj Slovenija national cup race with the accompanying Grbine so fine programme.
The Pumpaj Slovenija race counts towards the Slovenian Pumptrack Cup. The competition consists of qualifying rounds, from which the fastest riders progress to the main competition, where they race against each other in timed knockout heats.
The accompanying Grbine so fine programme is a free activity programme in which the youngest children (aged 4 to 12) can try out five cycling challenges on a skills course under the expert guidance of instructors from the Cycling Federation of Slovenia. Performers will include: Liberius Cultural Club, pupils and former pupils of Davorin Jenko Primary School with the bands Godzilla and Vesperi, KD Davorina Jenka with its Pod Stražo section and the Davorin Jenko Chamber Male Choir, KD Folklora Cerklje, KD Šenturška Gora with the Šenturška Gora Octet, Godba Cerklje (Cerklje Brass Band), KD Ignacija Borštnika, KUD “Pod lipo” Adergas, KUD Krvavec – Spodnji Brnik, Dečve from KD Sava Kranj, Društvo upokojencev Cerklje (Cerklje Pensioners’ Society) and guests Anton Habjan and the Smolnikar family with Zala, Renata and Robert!
- Next to the venue there will be an exhibition of paintings by the Cerklje art section and a lace exhibition – bobbin lace works by members of the Lastovke group – with a demonstration of bobbin lace-making on site
- For children, the Family and Youth Centre will provide creative workshops and an activity corner.
- To round things off, we will be entertained by the folk-pop trio Štefanci from Adergas and Gavnarji from Cerklje.
16:00 EXHIBITION OF CARNATION WINDOW BOXES and the contest for THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CARNATION! Visitors will be able to take part in the judging too!
The most beautiful carnations will be on display by the stage – and you can bring yours too! Entries can be submitted to info@visitcerklje.si , and members of Društvo kmečkih in podeželskih žena Gorenjski nagelj (Gorenjski Nagelj Society of Farm and Rural Women) will be helping us. Please bring your window boxes of carnations to the venue under the marquee in Dvorje before the event begins – from 15.00 onwards. Members of the Gorenjski nagelj society will carefully number and display all the boxes, and visitors will be able to vote for the most beautiful. At the end of the event we will announce the three most beautiful boxes, chosen on the basis of visitors’ votes and the decision of a three-member expert panel.
