Let's help Zavetišče Horjul!
Under the Animal Protection Act (ZZZiv), every municipality must provide care for abandoned animals and have a contract in place with an animal shelter. The Municipality of Cerklje na Gorenjskem entrusts this task to Zavetišče Horjul (Horjul Animal Shelter), which also looks after lost and abandoned animals from our area.
Zavetišče Horjul is one of the shelters in Slovenia that face a growing number of abandoned animals every day, especially cats. One of the main reasons for this is the insufficient spaying and neutering of pets, which is why the number of abandoned cats is rising year on year.
How can you help?
What the shelter needs most at the moment:
- Used blankets and sheets,
- Cat food,
- Tissues,
- Funds for spaying and neutering, for the purchase of antibiotics and medicines, and for veterinary care
Donations in kind can be brought to the premises of TIC Cerklje (Tourist Information Centre), where we will collect them and deliver them to Zavetišče Horjul.
You can make a financial contribution by:
- sending a text message with the word ZH5 to 1919
- making a bank transfer to IBAN: SI56 0400 0027 9270 604 (opened on 1 September 2024, OTP banka d.d.)
