The Slovenian Torch visits Cerklje
On Friday, 10 May, at 13.00, it also arrived in Cerklje pod Krvavcem.
More than 100 young athletes, together with our Olympians, including Tadeja Brankovič, Rožle Prezelj, Aljaž Janhar, Tia Malovrh and Tea Pavec, ran a lap of honour, torch in hand, around Davorin Jenko Primary School in Cerklje.
Along the way they were also joined by Marja Sajovic from Velesovo and her mother. Marja regularly takes part in Paralympic camps, and we were extremely grateful for this, because the Olympic spirit knows no bounds!
Those present were welcomed by the Mayor of the Municipality of Cerklje na Gorenjskem, Franc Čebulj (opens in a new tab), Olympians Tadeja Brankovič (opens in a new tab) and Rožle Prezelj, and the ambassador of the Slovenian Torch project, Olympian Jani Klemencic.
On its way to the Paris Olympic Games, the torch is travelling through every Slovenian municipality, spreading the values of the Olympic spirit, togetherness and cooperation.
Wonderful weather and a great atmosphere carried the torch on to the next municipality on its journey.
