The Cerklje Tourism Board warmly invites you to book a slot for your group for a guided tour, where you will hear the stories of important Slovenian men who came from Cerklje or worked here.
After the tour, join us at the free cultural and entertainment event Autumn Greeting with Gorenjska Carnations (Pozdrav jeseni z gorenjskimi nageljni), where, among other things, you can admire beautiful carnations and enjoy a programme hosted by the popular Slovenian humorist Franc Pestotnik – Podokničar.
On the guided tour you will visit, among other places, the birthplace of Ignacij Borštnik and learn many interesting details that you may not have been told before:
- Did you know that the giant of Slovenian theatre, Ignacij Borštnik, was born in Cerklje?
- Did you know that the former Mayor of Ljubljana, Ivan Hribar, had his summer residence in Cerklje?
- Did you know that the great Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik worked here?
- Did you know that the Slovenian composer Davorin Jenko, author of the songs “Lipa zelenela je” and “Naprej, zastave slave”, was born in Cerklje?
- Did you know that the founder and organiser of firefighting in Slovenia, Fran Barle, was born in Cerklje?

- Up to 10 people: €30 per group
- 10 to 25 people: €40 per group
- Over 25 people: €1.60 per person

At 16.00 you can also join us for the cultural and entertainment programme featuring folk dancing, a brass band and other performances in the marquee in Dvorje. Cultural societies with a long tradition in Cerklje are preparing a rich and varied programme. Performers will include Anton Habjan, the Smolnikar family and other local artists.
Admission to the event is free!
Next to the venue you will also be able to visit the Cerklje Market, an exhibition of paintings and lace, a bobbin lacemaking demonstration and a carnation exhibition.
