Every year in October, when we mark the International Day of Older Persons, representatives of the Red Cross (RK) of Slovenia, Kranj Regional Association, bring joy to older people in care homes with a short programme and an intergenerational get-together. This year the new virus spoilt their plans, but they still did not forget the older people in four care homes – in Preddvor, Naklo, Šmartno pri Cerkljah and Kranj. They are aware that the residents’ safety and health come first. Nevertheless, on Friday 23 October, representatives of RK Kranj visited Dom Taber in Šmartno and brought small gifts for the occasion for all the residents of the home. The gifts were received on behalf of the residents by the director, Martina Martinčič, who warmly thanked the representatives of RK Kranj on her own behalf and on behalf of the residents. She said that the gifts would be distributed among the residents to brighten up their everyday lives, and added that they are looking forward to the day when they can once again spend time together.
