The Municipality of Cerklje na Gorenjskem is preparing a Municipal Integrated Transport Strategy (OCPS)
The Municipal Integrated Transport Strategy (OCPS) will be the foundation for planning sustainable transport solutions and improving accessibility for all residents of the Municipality of Cerklje na Gorenjskem. With this strategy, the municipality is pursuing spatial and transport development goals that are coordinated at local, national and European level.
With the OCPS, we are working towards:
- reducing the environmental impact of transport,
- improving residents’ health and quality of life,
- increasing sustainable mobility,
- improving road safety and accessibility for all residents.
The OCPS preparation process Preparing the strategy involves broad participation of both experts and the general public. Key activities include interviews, public discussions, workshops with key stakeholders and surveys for the public, employers and schoolchildren. During the summer months, a public survey was carried out in which residents could enter their challenges and proposals for measures on an online map.
Vision and goals for the development of sustainable mobility On Thursday, 12 September 2024, a workshop of the OCPS working group was held, at which the vision and goals for the development of transport and mobility in the municipality were discussed. Participants had the opportunity to add to or reshape the existing vision, drawn up back in 2020, and adapt it to current needs. The vision is the fundamental guideline that steers further decisions and describes the desired future of our area.
European Mobility Week and an opportunity to take part Although the Municipality of Cerklje na Gorenjskem is not directly taking part this year in European Mobility Week, which is being held under the slogan “Comfortable public space – for everyone”, by preparing the OCPS we are actively committed to sustainable mobility and to improving the quality of public space.
We invite you to take part! Residents are invited to get actively involved in preparing the transport strategy. A digital public consultation will soon be available on the municipal website, where you will be able to learn more about the vision and goals of the OCPS, give your opinion and suggest additions.
