Take a trip around the Kamnik–Savinja Alps with organised transport

Organised transport for touring the Kamnik–Savinja Alps will be available again this year. The van will make its first run of the year on Saturday, 22 June 2024.

New this year is a slightly modified route, as the van will also stop in the Municipality of Komenda.

Seats must be booked in advance, at least one day before departure, by 16.00. You can book a seat by phone on +386 40 890 105.

Fares range from €4 to €9, depending on the length of the journey and the passenger’s age.

In Cerklje, the van stops in front of TIC Cerklje (Tourist Information Centre), at the gondola valley station and in Adergas in front of the church.

The Kamnik–Savinja Alps are an exceptionally picturesque part of the Alpine world and provide a stunning backdrop for a wide range of activities and for exploring nature. With growing tourist and local traffic, especially during the summer season, providing a more environmentally friendly way of getting around the area is a key aim of the participating municipalities.

The circular route offers easy access to the most popular tourist spots as well as to the hidden corners of this beautiful Alpine landscape. The van, which can carry up to 8 passengers at a time (or more by arrangement), runs twice a day. In the morning it travels in one direction and in the afternoon it returns in the opposite direction. During the operating period the van will run every day: on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays it will set off in the morning towards Luče first, and on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in the morning towards Komenda first. This way, users of this sustainable transport service can plan their day and their trip as they wish.

Passengers can board at stops in Kamnik (main bus station), in the centres of Komenda and Cerklje, at the Krvavec cable car valley station, in Adergas, in the centre of Preddvor, in Jezersko at the bus stops by the Municipality building and by Planšarsko jezero (Planšarsko Lake), at Plesnik in Logarska Dolina and at Center Rinka in Solčava, in the centre of Luče, at Kranjski Rak and in Kamniška Bistrica at the valley station of the cable car to Velika Planina (or, by arrangement, at the source of the Kamniška Bistrica). The van timetable will be published on the Kamnik–Savinja Alps website (ksalps.com) and on the websites of the participating municipalities. Times and pick-up locations will be adjusted to passenger demand as needed.

So, for anyone who wishes to experience the Kamnik–Savinja Alps sustainably, without worrying about parking or traffic jams, this way of travelling is the right choice.
