St Nicholas Fair in Cerklje – festive fun for all generations
TUESDAY, 3 DECEMBER, FROM 15.00 TO 19.00 OUTSIDE PETROVC HOUSE IN CERKLJE AND AT 17.30 AT DAVORIN JENKO PRIMARY SCHOOL IN CERKLJE
The Municipality of Cerklje, the Cerklje Tourism Board and Davorin Jenko Primary School warmly invite you to the St Nicholas Fair, which will take place on Tuesday, 3 December. The event will be marked by a festive atmosphere, local produce and a varied programme for all generations, making it an excellent opportunity to get together in the run-up to the December holidays.
Programme:
Proceedings will begin at 15.00 outside Petrovc House at Krvavška cesta 1B, where the Cerklje Market (Cerkljanska tržnica) will offer a rich selection of local produce. There will be products and produce from local providers, hot drinks such as mulled wine and tea, and pancakes for something sweet. Visitors will be able to create festive memories in the photo corner, which will be available throughout the fair. Petrovc House will also host the opening of the exhibition ‘Awaiting Christmas’, which will evoke nostalgia for Advent and Christmas celebrations past and present; it will be on view until 13 December. Folklorna skupina Cerklje (the Cerklje folk dance group) and Cerkljanski gavnarji will add to the fun with dancing and singing.
At 17:30, the fair will also open at Davorin Jenko Primary School in Cerklje, where pupils will be selling their handmade items, such as greeting cards, clay and wooden decorations, Advent wreaths and many other unique creations. By buying something, you will be contributing to the school fund. There will also be a photo corner and a wide selection of festive treats to add to the true December atmosphere. At the school in Zalog, the fair will begin at 17.00. Meanwhile, the St Nicholas Fair outside Petrovc House will still be under way, with the highlight of the event being a visit from St Nicholas and his companions.
Join us for a festive afternoon in Cerklje as together we create the warmth of December and get ready for the coming holidays.
A warm welcome to all!
