Cerklje Tourism Board at the conference on the future of cycling tourism
On 3 April 2025, Ana Pavec, a representative of Cerklje Tourism Board, attended the sports and business conference Opportunities for Cycling Tourism in Slovenia, organised by the University of Primorska, Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica. The conference drew numerous experts, destination representatives, cycling product providers and representatives of the sports and tourism industries to Portorož.
Slovenia, home to some of the best cyclists in the world, has great potential for developing cycling tourism as a sustainable and green form of travel. The conference presented successful examples from practice, such as the Tour of Slovenia race, the Trans Dinarica project and the Red Bull Goni Pony event. At the round table, experts highlighted the key opportunities and challenges that the development of cycling tourism brings to destinations.
Taking part in events of this kind is important for Cerklje Tourism Board, as it enables the transfer of knowledge, the exchange of experience and networking with stakeholders who are helping to shape Slovenia’s cycling future. With its location at the foot of Krvavec, its extensive network of routes and its proximity to the airport, Cerklje offers exceptional opportunities for developing cycling products.
Pogi Challenge 2025: S Klan'ca v Klanc – a challenge with Tadej Pogačar
We invite you to an unforgettable cycling experience, Pogi Challenge 2025, which will take place on 12 October 2025. Event programme:
- Saturday, 11 October 2025:
- Collection of race numbers and opening of the Fan Zone in Komenda.
- Screening of Il Lombardia on a big screen.

- Sunday, 12 October 2025:
- Participants gather and start from the Komenda Hippodrome.
- Group ride to the foot of Krvavec.
- Individual climb up Krvavec, with Tadej Pogačar setting off a few minutes after the participants to chase you down.

Registration opens on 12 May, with the following packages available:
- Basic package (€125): includes a race number, the official event T-shirt, a water bottle, a sponsors’ goody bag and a free descent by cable car.
- Super VIP package (€5,000): includes everything in the basic package plus a jersey signed by the world champion, a VIP starting position next to Tadej Pogačar, a meeting with him, VIP hospitality, a professional photo shoot, two nights’ half board on Krvavec and VIP transport.
- Spectators: free entry. Enjoy the Fan Zone, follow the race and come to the concert at the top of Krvavec.
