Slovenian Tourism Days and an award for Glamping Krištof

Slovenian Tourism Days and an award for Glamping Krištof

From 10 to 12 November, Brdo pri Kranju is hosting the Slovenian Tourism Days 2025, the main annual event for the Slovenian tourism industry and profession. The focus is on the people whose work helps to create a successful, sustainable and hospitable Slovenia.

Among this year’s award winners is a provider from our municipality – Eko Resort Glamping Krištof, which received the silver hospitality award as part of the project Moja dežela – znak gostoljubnosti 2025 (My Country – Hospitality Award 2025). The award confirms the quality, commitment to sustainability and friendliness for which Cerklje is increasingly recognised as a destination of authentic experiences.

This year the Tourist Association of Slovenia (TZS) is celebrating 120 years of activity. To mark the anniversary, the Slovenian Tourism Days paid tribute to the rich history of volunteering and local cooperation that has, over the decades, become the foundation of Slovenian tourism. The association was founded in 1905 as the Provincial Association for the Promotion of Tourism in Carniola, and its co-founder and first president was Ivan Hribar.

Cerklje has a special connection with this anniversary: Ivan Hribar had a summer residence in Cerklje, where he liked to receive distinguished guests. In the very year that the TZS celebrates its venerable anniversary, Hribar Villa in Cerklje is opening to the public. The building will be dedicated to cultural programmes and to interpreting the rich history of the town, linking heritage with contemporary trends in tourism.

The award for Eko Resort Glamping Krištof, the anniversary of the Tourist Association of Slovenia and the forthcoming opening of Hribar Villa together paint a picture of Cerklje as a place where history, hospitality and tourism development are woven into an inspiring story of our community.
