23 September 2023: join us in Cerklje for a packed programme of events!

We invite you to a packed programme of events in Cerklje on Saturday, 23 September 2023. The events are held in the spirit of the municipal celebrations, marking the anniversary of the death of the great artist Ignacij Borštnik, who was born in Cerklje.

Early in the morning, you can have your blood pressure, blood sugar and blood cholesterol measured, as well as your bone density checked by ultrasound, at the municipal premises from 7.00 to 10.00, organised by the Cerklje Red Cross.

Then head to the Cerklje Market, which this time will have a particularly sporty and musical flavour, featuring a performance by GODBA CERKLJE (the Cerklje brass band)!

It will take place from 9.00 to 12.00 in front of Davorin Jenko Primary School in Cerklje.

At 9.30 you can join a free guided tour of Cerklje and get to know Cerklje through the eyes of a tourist guide. You will stop in front of the memorial park, where you will be welcomed by the Liberius Cultural Club, and finish in the garden of the Borštnik Homestead. On this day, it is also holding an OPEN DAY AT THE BIRTHPLACE OF IGNACIJ BORŠTNIK.

Nor should you miss the exhibition at Petrovc House entitled “PETROVC HOUSE THROUGH TIME”, from 9.00 to 15.00, where you can learn more about this cultural heritage building, which today houses the Cerklje local library and the Tourist Information Centre. The exhibition is organised by the Liberius Club and the Cerklje Tourism Board in cooperation with the Gorenjska Museum.

AT THE MARKET:

At the Cerklje Market, you can watch a performance by children from Karate Club Cerklje, who will demonstrate spectacular Sankukai karate techniques. Your children will have the chance to join in and experience the delights of this sport. Athletics Club Cerklje will set up an obstacle course and various sports games for children. There will also be a prize draw in which you can win attractive prizes. We will also be entertained by Plesni studio Špela (Špela Dance Studio).
