Dom na Gospincu – Hotel Rozka

From the car park, continue along the asphalt road, but follow it only as far as the first left-hand bend, where signs for Krvavec direct you right onto a gravel road. Continue along this road for a while, until signs for Planinski dom na Gospincu / Hotel Rozka direct you left onto a footpath. Follow this path for a short distance, then join a cart track and follow it to the left. Higher up, the track becomes a fairly steep footpath, which takes you past a house and through the forest to a signposted junction, where the path from Spodnja Kokra joins.

Continue right along the cart track towards Planinski dom na Gospincu / Hotel Rozka. After a few more minutes, the fairly gentle track brings you to a memorial to fallen fighters. Beyond this point there are several junctions in quick succession, so follow the waymarks carefully. The marked path soon leaves the track and starts to climb through dense forest. The increasingly steep path brings you higher up to a small viewpoint, which opens up a view of the cable car running up to Krvavec. The path then returns to the forest and climbs along a route where you may meet the odd mountain biker coming the other way (there are quite a few of them here; for the most part they have their own trail, but in places there is only one path). On leaving the forest, the path crosses a pasture fence and then brings you to a road; follow it to the right to the upper station of the Krvavec cable car. Dom na Gospincu / Hotel Rozka is right next to this station.

At the start of the car park you will see a waymark directing you right onto a footpath that climbs a flight of overgrown steps. The path then levels out and higher up brings you to a road; follow it to the right. After a short climb you come to a small junction; continue right, following the road for only a few dozen metres more to a derelict house. At the derelict house, the waymarks direct you onto a cart track (the road turns right here), which you follow only briefly, as the marked path turns right and takes you past a cross to a stream. The path crosses the stream and beyond it starts to climb more steeply. The gradient soon eases, and after a little over an hour’s walking the path, climbing moderately almost entirely through forest, brings you to an indistinct saddle with a junction.
